Venice
Venice was founded in the early 1900’s by a tobacco millionaire, Abbot Kinney. The area was originally a beach resort set on two miles of ocean front property. Today with a boardwalk that stretches over two miles, an endless parade of street performers, and classic Californian architecture, Venice is among the city’s hottest neighborhoods. Over the past several years, a slew of artists, restaurateurs, and designers have entered Venice, imbuing the area with a creative, innovative sensibility. Its stylish locals appreciate and support the plentiful food, coffee, and fashion establishments scattered throughout town. Homes in Venice are predominantly modern and beautifully designed but one can also find the cozy craftsman and California Bungalow that the area was originally known for. The lots tend to be smaller compared to other LA neighborhoods but that is a small price to pay for the wonderful walkability to the sand and local eateries and shops nearby. Venice beach has a small town vibe with a surprisingly cool urban feel.
